Zonar recommends adding a ring terminal to the end of the ground wire for the most reliable connection. Existing screws or self-tapping screws may be used to connect the ground wire.

This install requires an ATM Add-A-Fuse (Add-A-Circuit) as shown below.Ĭonnect the Add-A-Fuse and then connect it to a socket which provides constant power as shown below.Īny place on the metal frame that is free of paint and rust may be used as an acceptable grounding point. This will allow tapping directly into a fuse for ease of installation and maintenance. Zonar recommends attaching an Add-A-Fuse connector to the constant power wire. Locate a constant power source that measures 8-30 volts with engine off or on. Remove the black panel to reveal the fuse panel.Once the screws have been removed, pull the glove compartment out.Open up the glove compartment and remove the screws that keep it in place.The fuse panel is behind the glove box on the passenger side of the vehicle.Backbone Extension Cable if Vehicle J1939 Connection is Female.Locate the vehicle’s J1939 terminating It will connect to green and yellow wires labeled "J1939".This will give the installer access to the J1939 terminating resistor.Remove kick panel in the bottom middle of the dash.Vehicle-Specific Installation J1939 Connection If the installer is connecting to a male terminating resistor on the vehicle, this adapter is not needed.
The purpose of the Backbone Extension Cable is if the vehicle’s J1939 Terminating Resistor has a female end. IMPORTANT: For backbone cable compatibility with the vehicle you are installing on, you must use the Y-Splitter & Terminating Resistor. A GPS ID is not required for trailers unless one has been installed. Required: Add the trailer to Ground Traffic Control (GTC) like other assets but with the TRAILER asset type. These tags include both a 9-digit asset number and a zone number 01-03. They ship in sets of two (2) or three (3) tags with the name “Ext. Trailer/Dolly Tags are considered “Extended Asset” tags and may be black or marigold colored. Perform an electronic inspection to ensure correct tag placement.Depending on the configuration, not all zone tags may be used.
